I watched a clip on youtube of a couple that was in a near fatal plane crash. Christian suffered burns on 35% of his body and Stephanie had burns over 83% of her body.
Since then she has had many many struggles. But she has kept her faith. I am amazed at all she has gone though. She could react so many different ways. But she draws closer to our Heavenly Father and her family.
Hearing about Stephanie and Christian it made me think of this quote by Elder Dieter F. Utchdorf "It is your reaction to adversity, not the adversity itself, that determines how your life's story will develop."
Their reaction to adversity is remarkable. Not only did they keep their faith but it was made stronger. How do you react to adversity. Do you draw nearer to God? Or do you get angry and push Him away.
God is there for us no matter what our struggles our, but the choice is up to us how we want to deal with it.
"Nevertheless the Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith. Nevertheless—whosoever putteth his trust in him the same shall be lifted up at the last day. Yea, and thus it was with this people." Mosiah 23:21-22
