I'm a Princess... A daughter of God

I know I'm 21 and probably too old to like princesses but I do. I have liked princesses ever since I have been little. I love the stories of these princesses. I love the things they have to go through. Then at the end there is always a happily ever after.

I like them so much because I am a princess. I am a daughter of God... a daughter of a king! And in my life I can have a happily ever after as I live the gospel of Jesus Christ.

President Uchtdorf gave a talk which I love titled, Your Happily Ever After.

“Once upon a time” promises something: a story of adventure and romance, a story of princesses and princes. It may include tales of courage, hope, and everlasting love. In many of these stories, nice overcomes mean and good overcomes evil. But perhaps most of all, I love it when we turn to the last page and our eyes reach the final lines and we see the enchanting words “And they lived happily ever after.”

"Isn’t that what we all desire: to be the heroes and heroines of our own stories; to triumph over adversity; to experience life in all its beauty; and, in the end, to live happily ever after?

“You are a beloved daughter of Heavenly Father, prepared to come to the earth at this particular time for a sacred and glorious purpose.”

Sisters, those words are true! They are not made up in a fairy tale! Isn’t it remarkable to know that our eternal Heavenly Father knows you, hears you, watches over you, and loves you with an infinite love? In fact, His love for you is so great that He has granted you this earthly life as a precious gift of “once upon a time,” complete with your own true story of adventure, trial, and opportunities for greatness, nobility, courage, and love. And, most glorious of all, He offers you a gift beyond price and comprehension. Heavenly Father offers to you the greatest gift of all—eternal life—and the opportunity and infinite blessing of your own “happily ever after.”

Sisters, we love you. We pray for you. Be strong and of good courage. You are truly royal spirit daughters of Almighty God. You are princesses, destined to become queens. Your own wondrous story has already begun. Your “once upon a time” is now.

Unpicking in our life

When I was 8 my mom started to teach me how to sew. I started with simply first just sewing on a piece of paper to understand how it feels.

My first project was a pillow case and then a skirt. I started by going very slowly to make sure all the stitches were perfect. But sometimes my straight line wasn't so straight and I had to unpick it.

I disliked unpicking it took so much time to sew it then I had to unpick which took even longer  and sew it again. I would get so frustrated every time I would have to unpick.

My mom wouldn't make me unpick but she would say, "If I was my Grandmother I would make you do it again, but you can decide what you do." I would usually unpick and do it again.

After I would unpick and fix my mistake I was so much happier knowing that I did my very best. I would be happy at how my project turned out so well.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matt 7:13-14

My sewing and having to unpick is just like our lives. Sometimes we aren't so straight on the straight and narrow path.  We make mistakes in our lives that take us farther away from our Heavenly Father.

We can stay in our ways or we can turn our hearts and will to God. Just as my mom let me choose if I would unpick or not... the choice is ours.

Sincere repentance brings several results. We feel God's forgiveness and His peace in our lives. Our guilt and sorrow are swept away. We feel the influence of the Spirit more. And when we pass form this life, we will be more prepared to live with our Heavenly Father and His Son.

Just how I was happier with my sewing we can be happier with our lives as we repent and follow our Heavenly Father.

Repent ye, and prepare the way of the Lord, and walk in his paths, which are straight; for behold, the kingdom of heaven is at hand, and the Son of God cometh upon the face of the earth.  Alma 7:9

Safe in His hands

Last night we found our that there may be a tornado warning but at 10:30 when we went to bed the weather was still okay.

Around 12:30 we woke up we could hear thunder, rain hitting against the window, the harsh wind. Our room was continually lit up by lightning. Then we heard the tornado sirens go off.

We prayed to know what we should do. I felt that we should go in the closet so we would be safe. So we followed the feeling I had felt

We had to clear out many things in the closet so that we would be able to fit. As I was moving my things I found a note from my mom that said

Be Brave the Lord is on your side

How true that is. As we follow the Lord he will protect us. As we have faith we will not fear but we will trust in the Lord. We will trust Him that all things will work out. We don't know how but they will.

We woke up a while latter and the storm was gone and it was quiet once more. We were safe and so was our house we were able to go back to our own beds and sleep the rest of the night.

I am so grateful that the Lord was so mindful of me. I know he loves and cares about each one of His children. We just need to be brave and trust in Him.

Dancing in The Rain

There was a big Kentucky rain storm the other day. So We went out an played in it. We weren't out very long when were we dripping wet. I had fun jumping in puddles and running around. I was so cold but it was still so much fun.

A big rain storm puts a lot of people in a grumpy mood. But take a moment and find the joys to be had. Its this rain storm that lets the flowers bloom and makes everything green.

We need to slow down take a little time to find the many great things in the world. No matter how bad our lives are there is always something that we can find to smile about. Learn to Dance in the rain!

A Prophet of God

Just like in ancient time we have a prophet of God today! He leads and guides the people. Noah protected those who would listen to him by saving them from the flood. Today Thomas S. Monson protects us from the spiritual floods of the world that are happening around us. He guides us and helps us to find happiness in this life and the life to come.
We have a great opportunity to listen to this prophet. The message which he shares is from God. It is from God and it is for you. It will help you gain faith and strength. I love General Conference. I love being able to listen to a Prophet of God! It helps me so much in my life.
I know if you listen to Conference questions which you have will be answered. Because God Loves you! So come and follow a prophet.

I Love To See The Temple

I love going to the temple. I love the spirit that is found there. The temple is the house of the Lord and when I go there I can feel Him there. I'm pretty sure that is how heaven will feel, full of love, peace and joy. The temple is such a special place where we can be sealed to our family for time and all eternity. It doesn't have to be till death do we part... it can be Forever! Temples are so special to me. I love going to them, I love being inside and even just on the temple grounds. I love the spirit that surrounds the the temple. I'm so grateful that we have temples today where we can go and learn.
